About the Unified Government
On January 1, 2009, the governments of Greeley County and the City of Tribune united to form the Unified Government of Greeley County. This innovative move streamlined local government and resulted in a more responsive approach to addressing area issues. The City of Horace retained its own city council.

Meeting Schedule
Meetings are held at the Unified Greeley County Courthouse on the 2nd Monday of each month at 10 a.m. MT and the 4th Monday at 1 p.m. MT. All meetings are open to the public.
Duties & Powers
Vested by Kansas State Statute 19-212 with both legislative and administrative powers:
- Control of county financial affairs and approval of the annual budget
- Levying of Unified Greeley County taxes
- Construction and maintenance of county roads and bridges
- Approval of land use and zoning policies
- Issuance of bonds and awarding of contracts
- Setting salaries of all county employees
- Appointment of members of various boards and commissions
- Serving as the County Board of Canvassers for elections
